Elderly and Disabled Home Repairs

Saginaw County CAC provides free labor and material toward home repairs for seniors and disabled people that live in the Cathedral District or the Houghton/Jones Expanded district.

Repairs that Saginaw County CAC offer include:

  • Roof repairs/replacement
  • Gutters and chimney repairs
  • Plumbing and electrical work
  • Home security devices
  • Weatherization measures
  • Railing installation
  • Grab bars
  • Kitchen Modifications
  • Wheelchair ramps
  • Smoke detectors
  • Porch and stair repair
  • Bathroom modifications

Eligibility criteria are:

  • The homeowner must be the applicant for the service
  • The home must be located in the Cathedral District or Houghton/Jones Expanded
  • The homeowner must be age 55 or older, or physically disabled

To apply for service, bring:

  • State of Michigan Picture ID for all members of household
  • Social Security cards for all members of household
  • Proof of income for all members of household
