´╗┐Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO)

Community Development Block Grant (CBDG) funds provide rental housing for low-income residents of Saginaw City. The agency acquires sub-standard housing in the targeted areas identified by the city council and rehabilitates it for rental. We become the property managers and program income is used to acquire additional properties for the program. The agency currently maintains seventeen (17) 2 - 3 bedroom houses/duplexes

Eligibility criteria are:

  • Income at, or below, guideline. CLICK HERE to see guidelines for this program.
  • Saginaw County resident

To apply for service, bring:

  • Picture ID (for person whose name will be on the lease)
  • Social Security cards for ALL residents
  • Proof of income
  • Completed Central Intake Application and Authorization to Release Information forms.
